I’m so gratified by the popularity of our aesthetic learning events. The feedback has been incredible—new and advanced aesthetic professionals have found immeasurable value in these sessions. Now I’m pleased to announce we will be conducting two new events on April 27th and April 28th, 2020 at the SOHO House in Chicago.

 

BUILDING CONFIDENCE, ONE COLLEAGUE AT A TIME

Our sessions are designed for new and advanced aesthetic professional who seek ongoing training to perfect their practices in our evolving profession. Nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dentists and physicians are welcome. We believe in providing students with a deep understanding of injection protocols with complete transparency around the subjects of risk, risk prevention and management of complications. What’s more, every class is intimate, professional and supportive with the goal of building community, empowering the individual aesthetic provider and having a bit of fun.

Both days offer immersion into topics that will elevate your practice and your skills, in a collaborative and lively environment that celebrates the joy of our profession.

 

THE AGENDA 

Session 1: The Future is a Natural Aesthetic 

No more puffy, contorted features—the aesthetics are definitely trending toward natural-looking results. Your host Rana Kennelly will share how things have gone wrong with facial fillers and how to get back on course, creating natural, safe and pleasing aesthetics. 

Session 2: Growing an Aesthetic Community with Social Media (Monday April 27th)

Social media is essential to most businesses today, and for aesthetic providers it offers a way to display inspiring work, promote their brand and be part of their professional community. Social media expert Emily Schwalbach will share insights into building and maintaining an organic and authentic social media presence that generates business and enhances reputations.

Session 2: What Keeps You Up at Night and How to Avoid Trouble (Tuesday April 28th)

Attorney Michael Sacopulos covers everything you need to know to ensure a good night’s sleep! He will provide expert insights into legal issues pertaining to social media, telemedicine, medical records, the expanding scope of nurse practitioners and physician assistants, litigation tips, risk management and more. 

Session 3: Lip Beautification with Julie Horne’s Signature Techniques 

Lip-enhancing techniques are among the most often-requested among patients today, and they represent the cornerstone of many aesthetic practices. Julie will share her consultation and assessment skills, social media pearls and how to take great before and after photos. 

Session 4: Safe and Advanced Injection Techniques with Neuromodulators 

Join Rana as she explains how to achieve natural and safe results with the emerging practice of employing micro-Botox for the full face. She’ll also dispel the myths of traditional neuromodulator treatments and demonstrate the best techniques for the very best outcomes.  

Session 5: Video Lip Demonstrations by Julie Horne

Julie will share her signature lip techniques, including strategies for creating beautiful, youthful, natural-looking results; asymmetry corrections; techniques for challenging, M-shaped lips; achieving medial height with minimal projection and mastering perfect, crisp, vermillion borders.

Session 6: Preventing and Managing Complications

As the popularity of facial fillers skyrockets and patients request an ever-increasing assortment of injectables, it’s only a matter of time before an injector encounters an unwanted adverse reaction. Rana and Julie will share how to respond to emergencies quickly and effectively if and when they occur.

Your Host: Rana Kennelly, RN

Rana has dedicated the last 16 years of her practice as a Certified Aesthetic Nurse Specialist (CANS). As all her patients will attest, she brings an irresistible blend of skill, experience, artistry, caring and joy to her practice. Recognized as one of the top educators in the field, she is also a sought-after speaker/trainer for national and international conferences, frequently engaged by top companies such as Allergan, Galderma and P.A.L.E.T.T.E. Resources.  Rana brings unparalleled passion and enthusiasm to her career, evidenced by her ongoing pursuit of continued education. Guest Speakers

Julie Horne, RN hails from Sweden and currently works in Oslo, Norway. A practicing nurse for more than 13 years, she is also the owner of the Julie Horne Academy, a renowned training center for aesthetic doctors and nurses worldwide. Known for her unique lip techniques, she created her signature Julie Horne Lips (@juliehornelips) in 2017, and the fan base for this procedure continues to grow among practitioners and patients. She has appeared at many large aesthetic congresses and was awarded The Golden Syringe—Galderma’s most prestigious prize—In 2019.  Julie’s mission is to eliminate unnatural results by sharing her vision, knowledge and techniques with colleagues around the world. Her motto is: “Safety and natural results ONLY!”

 

Emily Schwalbach, Social Media Consultant* is the founder of Be Social Consulting. What started as a simple Instagram Story training has grown into a full-service social media training and consulting business for this mother and former kindergarten teacher. Emily approaches her work with patience and humor and teaches social media enthusiasts to grow organically, connect with followers and turn followers into customers in an engaging way.

Michael J. Sacopulos* is an attorney who has been educating and advising health care providers on how to identify and reduce liability risk for more than 20 years. Known for his sharp wit, common sense guidance and ability to turn mundane legal topics into entertaining educational sessions, Michael speaks nationally on privacy, security, and compliance issues. Michael  is the CEO of Medical Risk Institute (MRI) and serves as General Counsel for Medical Justice Services--a national, 4,000-member group of physicians. He is also the executive vice-president of the Aesthetic Stem Cell Society. Michael attended Harvard College, London School of Economics, and Indiana University/Purdue University School of Law.

Register for one day only $1350 and choose your guest speaker—Emily Schwalbach (Monday) or Michael J. Sacopulos (Tuesday). Julie Horne will be presenting the same topics both days. Registration includes goody bags, lunch included and a few surprises! Please note space is extremely limited, so we urge you to register as soon as possible to ensure your spot.

Who is the Target Audience? 

The workshops have been developed for Nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, dentists and physicians looking for a career change or an opportunity to expand an existing career.

 

Safe learning environment 

We offer a safe, comfortable and intimate learning environment, maximum attendees are 30 participants. We encourage developing professional supportive relationships with each other during the event. Our goal is to build a community that empowers each other while authentically sharing and practicing safely. 

 

Do I need to bring anything with me? 

No. Handouts, paper and pen will be provided plus educational goodie bags

 

Is the program CME accreditation?

Location Details 

Soho House Chicago, 113 N Green Street, Chicago, IL 60607 Held in the Cinema/Screening room on the 4th floor.   Soho House Chicago is a private members club with a strict door policy. On registration your name will be added to the registered guest list at reception where you will directed to the screening room. Unregistered individuals may not attend or gain access to the private members area. 

 

Time 

Please arrive 15 mins early at 8.15am for registration. The event will start promptly at 8.30AM and conclude at 4.30PM. We will have a 1hr lunch break at the two lower public levels of Soho House. Please note you do not have access to the upper private levels of Soho House except the 4th floor during the workshops unless you have a hotel room at Soho House. 

 

Is there Parking? 

Soho House offers valet parking

 

Are food and drinks provided? 

Drinks only as the screening room does not allow food. Lunch is provided during the lunch break. 

 

Is this a hands-on injection training? 

Live injections will not be performed although video demonstrations will be shown 

 

Can I bring ancillary staff? 

Due to limited availability, this program is extended only to health care professionals
