Adrian M. Nowitzke MSN, CRNA, APRN
We are thrilled to introduce Adrian M. Nowitzke as part of "Where Are They Now?" series. Adrian attended our Customized Advanced Full Day Training in March 2022.
Adrian's story is one that we hope will ignite inspiration and motivation in others to pursue their own passions and ambitions. She has founded the Behold Aesthetics and Wellness Center in Effingham, IL, where she leads a team of seven women who are making a noteworthy positive impact in their community. What were you doing before you got into aesthetics?
I was practicing anesthesia as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at a small rural hospital in Effingham, Illinois full time.
What inspired you to pursue a career in aesthetics?
I have always had a love of beauty, science, and being your hype-girl! I’m a natural cheerleader at heart and love inspiring other women to feel confident and empowered. I’m a member of this amazing tribe of CRNA Moms on Facebook and one of the members Kelly Hermans started Beautiphi Academy in Rochester, MI. She shared her journey and how she was training other CRNA’s just like me to enter the world of aesthetic medicine. I longed for a work / life balance that would allow me to be present in my kids lives that I wasn’t experiencing in my current role. My “end game” was to retire as a nurse anesthetist at my local hospital, but God truly had bigger plans for my life with Behold Aesthetics and Wellness Center. I resigned as a full time CRNA in October of 2020 and started my own anesthesia and aesthetics companies. I practiced anesthesia as an independent contractor 2 days a week and also started my solo Aesthetics by Adrian business 2 days a week renting a single room at a local salon. I was scared to death, but also had never felt so ALIVE in my new role.
Why did you choose The Confidence Lab's training program?
The Confidence Lab exudes a positive vibe, fun atmosphere, importance placed on patient safety, and the ability to empower others by boosting their confidence. These are the pillars I desire in my practice and my fellow providers at Behold. I want every single one of our clients to FEEL loved, valued , cherished, and confident in the safety of their procedures.
What exactly are you doing now?
I am so honored and grateful to be the founder of Behold Aesthetics and Wellness Center at our main location in Effingham, IL. We just recently also launched a second location in Vandalia, IL. I am leaning into my new role as the leader of a team of 7 other women who make such a positive impact in the aesthetic and wellness industry in our community. I’m still learning and growing as an aesthetic nurse injector and I’m smiling everyday, knowing I’m doing exactly what I was created to do! What is your favorite aspect of working in the field of aesthetics?
Seeing our clients SMILE! That’s the best part - that first look in the mirror - witnessing the true raw emotion of feeling more beautiful and more confident! I also love empowering the members of my team to advance and succeed in their roles. I was made fun of in front of my entire junior high class for having dark hair on my upper lip. I was devastated and so embarrassed. I completely understand and relate to the struggles others can face and feel so grateful we are able to offer safe, evidence based treatments to help them.
What advice would you give to those considering a career in this field?
Embrace COMMUNITY OVER COMPETITION! Value education and never stop learning to be the best you can be for your patients! Your vibe attracts your tribe! Keep your head down and in your own lane, comparison is truly the thief of joy, stay humble, work hard - then even harder, and NEVER stop BELIEVING in yourself!
